R.E.A.Ch. 11
CHoreo-graphic scores and video scores

In collaboration with graphic designer Justine Debaene, I explore and test potential iconographic or symbolic representations for the vocabularies used in the software of R.E.A.Ch. 0. and R.E.A.Ch. 1. Debaene follows the research practice Nervous Systems with a parallel research in graphical representation of dance experiences. Our research is inspired by earlier introduced notating systems such as Rudolf von Laban and Irmgard Bartenieff and expands these by researching abstract choreographic video scores and choreographic representations as made by William Forsythe and Wayne McGregor. Shifting from graphic to video scores, I collaborate with algorithmic composer Nina Fukuoka who developed a PhD in the arts dedicated to live-video scores for music.
